Abstract
Nanobioremediation is an advanced and rapidly emerging innovative technology in which biologically synthesized nanoparticles are utilized to eliminate contaminants from the environment. The utilization of nanomaterials such as nanoenabled sensors, nanopesticides, or nanofertilizers is getting increased attention in agriculture to enhance crop yields. Numerous researchers are exploring the ability of nanotechnology, in particular the nanoencapsulation method for the distribution of pesticides. The formulation of nanoencapsulated pesticide can minimize the usage of pesticides and thus human contact, which is naturally used for protecting crops. The specific behavior of the surface and explicit surface area of nanomaterials play a significant role in the degradation of pesticides. This chapter focuses on nanobioremediation and its application in the agriculture industry to accomplish food safety and to cleanse the environment from the effects of pesticides. Smart delivery methods of nanopesticides are highly promising as powerful tools for sustainable agricultural development.
