Abstract

The rapid increase in the number of industries in different sectors during the last decade has given rise to an ultimate increase in world pollution. The discharge of waste from these industries into the water streams, air, and soil has become the greatest debacle of the day. To overcome this issue of pollution and remove contaminants, nanomaterials-based adsorbents, also known as nanoadsorbents, have gained great interest in recent times. The nanoadsorbents are unique materials with extravagant properties, such as extremely small sizes, high surface-to-volume ratios, and high efficiency toward the removal of contaminants. The present chapter provides an insight into the importance of nanoadsorbents for the removal of contaminants.
