Abstract

This paper investigates the effect of substrate surface-waves on the radiation characteristics of a printed monopole at 60 GHz. The use of metallic sheets, dielectric slabs, and EBG structures is investigated in order to control the surface-waves and their effect on the gain and radiation characteristics of the printed monopole.
