Abstract
In response to the growing need to diversify its energy sources and reduce carbon emissions, Saudi Arabia is exploring the potential applications of nuclear microreactors. This article delves into their viability for both civil and industrial purposes within the country. The study evaluates their capacity to meet the energy demands of civilian projects, such as The Line City and remote communities, while also assessing their effectiveness in supporting key industries, such as oil, gas, hydrogen, and mining. Proposing specific designs tailored to each application, this article offers valuable insights into how nuclear microreactors can play a pivotal role in shaping Saudi Arabia’s sustainable energy future across various sectors.
