Abstract

The paper describes a digital control system for DC motor speed regulation. The control Algorithm which emulates a PID controller was implemented using the IBM personal computer. The microcomputer acquires real time data from the motor and then computes appropriate output signals for the control of the pulse width modulation of the field chopper. Results of the microcomputer based control scheme are included.
