Membrane Bioreactor for Sewage Treatment

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Membrane bioreactors (MBR)Membrane bioreactor have received prominence as a sustainable approach for recovering water from sewage effluent in order to address the water crisis. This chapter focuses on the recent and current advancement in MBR for sewage treatment applications. This book section primarily outlined the types and novel configuration of MBR for wastewater treatment. Membrane foulingMembrane fouling is an intense and serious concern in MBR operation. Additionally, fouling mechanism and mitigation were covered. The innovations in significant MBR technology were studied with a focus on sewage treatment applications. This chapter would serve as a summary of design of MBR for sewage treatment.
