Abstract
Renewable energy resources are the paramount substitution of conventional sources of energy. Like other developing countries, Pakistan needs to switch towards renewable energy to cope with the severe energy crisis. Wind Power (WP) generation is a thriving, revolutionized, and state of the art technology that has the ability to cut down the current energy crisis in Pakistan. In this paper, we discussed the current energy profile of Pakistan, renewable resources contribution to end the energy crisis of energy demand, WE significance, resource trends, the challenges faced, and future benefits of WP generation considering various on-going projects of WE generation. Our work presents the WP projects being deployed in Pakistan providing statistical information. Further, the global statistic of WP generation, offshore and onshore WP generation in Pakistan are also discussed in detail. The paper concludes with brief summary of WP potential in Pakistan.
