Abstract
This paper presents a novel power amplifiers' behavioral model that predicts both the linearity as well as the efficiency performances. The proposed model augments current state of the art behavioral models, which only models the output waveform of the device under test, by including an accurate estimation of the efficiency. This efficiency estimation is performed using continuous wave measured data via a power scaling block. The model performances, experimentally assessed using a Doherty power amplifier prototype driven by an LTE signal, demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed structure and its suitability to simultaneously predict power amplifiers' output waveform as well as its power efficiency.
