Abstract
An isolated multi-port bidirectional dc-dc converter is widely used to integrate multiple power sources, loads and energy storage devices. However, achieving an efficient operation under single phase-shift modulation remains a significant challenge especially under voltage mismatch and at light load. To tackle this issue, this paper proposes a modulation scheme for multi-port converter. The strategy aims to improve the efficiency based on root-mean-square current minimization. The loss optimization technique is implemented in two phases: first, ripple correlation control is presented to perform real-time optimization. Second, a modulation architecture based on time-division multiplexing approach is implemented to maximize the efficiency. Finally, the optimization strategy is validated and reported by PLECS simulation results.
