Abstract
This chapter discusses the current trend in large-scale production methods of nanomaterials and adsorbents. Nanomaterial production procedures must be carefully chosen based on scalability and production costs as well as the quality of nanomaterials required for a specific application, such as adsorption and separation. Nanomaterial characteristics vary depending on the synthesis technique used. This chapter examines the reasons that limit the scalability of nanomaterial synthesis methods. Waste materials can be converted into useful adsorbents. Addressing these approaches, this chapter discusses different protocols used to obtain adsorbents. It informs scientists, engineers, and other specialists about the future of nanomaterial manufacturing and its requirements.
