Abstract

The issues regarding the integration of refinery and petrochemical operations are discussed. The HS-FCC process is in the best position for producing light olefins for the usage in petrochemical processing. The use of catalytic cracking and the addition of ZSM-5 in the catalytic system is also discussed. In the upgrading economics with HS-FCC option the propylene and paraxylene production is economical.
