Abstract

With the growing adoption of large language model (LLM) applications such as ChatGPT, new opportunities to enhance digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities have developed, ensuring that they too can benefit equally from the technological advancements. This study investigates how to adapt LLM applications to meet the diverse needs of individuals with disabilities. Through interviews with ten participants from a local support center, the research team collected valuable insights into their experiences, expectations, and the challenges they face with current tools. Participants with no prior experience using ChatGPT expressed enthusiasm after experiencing its potential and suggested integrating features that could better accommodate their needs. Based on the findings, this study presents a set of design recommendations aiming to guide the development of more accessible LLM interfaces for people with disabilities.
