Abstract

A simple approach is presented for computing permissible input carrier power for a predetermined output carrier power in equal-amplitude multicarrier systems, given the amplitude and AM/PM conversion characteristics of the amplifier. From these characteristics a set of curves is deduced relating the standard distortion factors D//2//3, D//3//3, D//5//5 etc. , with the output powers and these, in combination with the known characteristics of the amplifier, are used for input power assignment.
