Abstract

THE EFFECT of juice extracts of Mangifera Indica (mango) on the corrosion of mild steel test specimen immersed in 0.1 M HCl was investigated at ambient temperature. The weight-loss and potential measurement techniques were used for the experiments. The extraction of the juice(s) was made from the back and leaves of the tree. The bark and leaves provide very minimal corrosion inhibition throughout the experimental period at all varied concentrations of the juices used. However, the combination of the two, at a concentration of 5ml/100ml of 0.1 M HCl gave very good results with high inhibitor efficiency.
