Abstract

Results of an experimental investigation on the effect of gas pre-conditioning of the damaged oil-bearing sand on permeability improvement by matrix acidizing was presented. It was found that with regular stimulation, improvement in permeability peaked at a certain acid volume. With gas pre-conditioning continuous improvement in permeability was obtained with increasing the volume of acid injection.
