Impact assessment of strategic competences on organization performance: An empirical study in Jordanian insurance companies

Abstract

Over a decade ago, Strategic Competences (SC) had been an important topic to business from small to large size. At this time, organizations are expected to gain increased chances in competitiveness and to focus their efforts and effective use of their resources on their Strategic competence. While addressing this issue, this paper seeks to introduce an integrated framework to determine the relationships between strategic competences and organization performance. The present empirical study is based on a sample of data collected from seventy seven respondents, drawn randomly from Jordanian Insurance Companies. The results of the survey show survey show that the four selected factors (Shared Vision, Cooperation, Empowerment, and Innovation) have a significant impact on organization performance. Therefore, this paper provides an original contribution in the Strategic competence field by introducing a model for evaluating strategic competence that is essential for organization performance to keep organizations competition within the global business environment.
