Abstract

This paper describes a pilot project to evaluate the feasibility of injecting commercial oxygen into Clark Hill Lake. The oxygen was injected 130 ft below the surface at a rate of 90,700 kg/day through a diffuser system extending 610 m across the lake 1. 61 km upstream from the dam. Dissolved oxygen was monitored in each of the seven turbine discharges to evaluate the efficacy of the system in meeting a 6 mg/L dissolved oxygen criterion for the discharges below the dam.
