Abstract

Nanofluids are considered as better fluids than ordinary fluids in thermal management systems. Thermal management of microelectronic devices is a challenging task in order to maintain their base temperature in safe threshold range. So, nanofluids are efficiently used in thermal management of heat sinks as a high temperature of a heat sink reduces its performance. The performance of a heat sink by using nanofluids is still low and it can be enhanced by using hybrid nanofluids. One of the major techniques is the change the geometry of heat sinks along with using various working fluids. The use of different geometries of heat sinks results in the enhancement in performance of the heat sink. The heating of heat sinks is the major drawback in its performance and to maintain temperature of heat sinks is the main challenge. This problem can be optimized by using hybrid nanofluids which may optimize the temperature of the media. Hybrid nanofluid is a new class to enhance the rate of heat transfer inside heat sinks, due to their higher thermal conductivity compared to the base fluid. So, the utilization of hybrid nanofluids in this application has proven to overcome the decrease in terms of performance.
