Abstract

Second, to cardiac diseases, cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. According to the WHO, the leading cause of death is cancer in more than 100 countries, before the age of 70 years. Cancer is caused by the uncontrolled division of the cells that invades the surrounding cells and migrates to the others parts of the body. The word cancer came from the Greek terminology “karkinos” by the physician, Hippocrates (460-370 bc). However, before this, the human bone marrow tumor was detected in Egyptian mummies (1600 bc) but there was no treatment for cancer at that time. According to ancient data, the method for surface tumor removal was via surgery. Later on, in the current era, numerous techniques and strategies to deliver the drug ranging from controlled delivery to targeted therapy have evolved scientifically over time. The researchers have focused on developing nanoparticles to target cancers at specific tumor sites.
