abstract = "We propose a novel approach for efficient design of large number of coupled microcavities. This approach is based on formulating the design problem as an convex optimization problem. This formulation allows for fast, efficient solution of the desing problem. A filter design using 150 coupled microcavities has been achieved in less than one second of simulation using personal computer. The proposed technique require no initial desing to start the optimization process.",
