Abstract
A major difficulty for microcomputer utilization is that of programming. To alleviate this difficulty, a higher level language compiler is being developed which accepts input in a format tantamount to a schematic of components. The compiler output is an object code, comprehensible to the microcomputer assembler. Through this vehicle, an entire design can be accomplished in a manner to which an engineer is accustomed. That is, as a system of interconnected, familiar components. This study describes the mechanics of utilizing such a cross-compiler and demonstrates its application to a control system of the petrochemical industry.
