Abstract

The possibility of accelerating polarized protons in the Zero Gradient Synchrotron (ZGS) had been considered for many years by the authors. This article presents the results of the successful operation of a high energy polarized beam. In section I authors describe the various systems that are necessary for polarized proton acceleration; and in Section II, the measurements of beam polarization.
