Abstract
Recently, the fractional calculus use has grown in engineering and science areas and been shown being superior. In this work a fuzzy PID controller of fractional-order is considered. Moreover, the controller behavior is investigated with tubular heat exchanger process. For highlighting the suggested control method benefits, the controller responses are examined under disturbances in the load and variations in reference settings. The comparison is carried out with classical PID control structure. It is clear from the simulation that the presented control method is outperforming the classical PID control structure.
