Abstract
Conventional hydrotreating catalysts, with a large number of acid sites, have a limited activity in HDS of wide range FCC gasoline. While performing HDS, complicated inter conversion between paraffin, olefin, diolefins, naphthene, and aromatic was observed. In some conditions, olefin and aromatic contents were maintained or increased, which means the possibility of improving octane rating through hydrotreating. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 231st ACS National Meeting (Atlanta, GA 3/26-30/2006).
