Abstract
Two Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys were conducted on Janna and Karan islands in the Saudi waters of the Arabian Gulf, as part of an environmental study focusing on the assessment of the long-term viability and suitability of the offshore islands as major sea turtle nesting sites. The main objectives of the GPR survey are to identify the thickness of the sand along the shoreline and to image the subsurface sediments at both islands. A seismic survey will soon be recorded to confirm the GPR results.
