Abstract
As soon as the spatial behaviour of the variable under consideration is determined accurately, it is possible to compute the kriging variance for any pattern before the sampling is undertaken. The results of a study on sampling patterns for the Jabal Sayid deposit (western Saudi Arabia) are presented. Several patterns are compared and discussed in relation to their kriging variances. The results can be of considerable use in future exploitation of the deposit.
