Abstract
The seismic trace may be processed both as a single time series, and as a multidimensional function. Besides the fundamental time dimension, other dimensions such as offset and spatial coordinates may be considered. In this paper we show that an exponentiation of the amplitude spectra of seismic signals in one or two dimensions may give either a spectral whitening or a coherent signal enhancement. A number of applications to real seismic data are discussed. -Authors
