Abstract
We demonstrate freestanding terahertz metamaterials, fabricated by laser-beam machining of commercial Aluminum-foil. This method allows for cost-efficient and rapid prototyping. Low insertion losses and outstanding transmission characteristics render the samples as high performance filters.
