Abstract

A general technique to retrieve the fractal dimension of self-similar soils through microwave (radar) scattering was discussed. The technique was found to be based on a mathematical model relating the fractal dimensions of the georadargram to that of the scattering structure. It was found that clear and different fractal signatures were observed over four geosystems (soils and sediments).
