Abstract

This volume presents the first systematic summary of the fractal models that have been proposed to explain the irregular features and phenomena of the Earth - from meandering rivers and rugged coastlines to the pore space of reservoir sandstones and earthquake prediction. No previous knowledge of fractals is required and the five logically arranged chapters are clarified by over 300 illustrations. An extensive reference list is provided, as are subject and author indexes. -from Publishers
