Abstract
An axial force distribution method is developed for the analysis of statically indeterminate trusses. So called distribution factors for the ith node are derived, and alternate locking and releasing of joints leading to an iterative convergent process for the axial forces in each member. The method is philosophically similar to the moment distribution method for the bending analysis of beams and frames.
