Abstract
Fluid Power education needs to follow industry to its decentralized national market. As trends in university research shift to industry, technological and societal needs may acquire controlling posture. Goals of research may increase interaction between university and Fluid Power industry. A 'Univeristy-Industry Research Program' and a 'Master in Fluid Power Engineering' paired with either a departmental academic unit or a separate research center are suggested. (A)
