Abstract

Despite of recent developments, Bangladesh is still facing considerable energy shortage and is predicted to worsen hereafter if sufficient sustainability couldn't be maintained. Adhoc fossil fuel based energy sources and lack of durability of them could deter the long term economic development. Biogas, one of the facets of renewable energy, can establish adequate sustainability and can abate energy crisis. There are thousands of poultry farms, spread all over the country. They can produce their own energy from daily poultry waste and bio-fertilizer; can generate revenue selling bio-fertilizer and surplus energy to the adjacent area or to the national grid. The purpose of this paper is to study the feasibility of deploying biogas plants for producing electricity and bio-fertilizer commercially at different scale of poultry farms at different parts of the country.
