Abstract

The authors investigated the parametric effect of the laser beam and material on the hole geometry by a statistical approach referred to as factorial design. The factors chosen were focal position and thickness of the material. The investigation was extended to find the optimal focal positions for drilling holes in samples of various thicknesses.
