Abstract

An evaluation is presented of analog and digital circuit techniques when applied to the realization of real-time miniature adaptive filters. Various adaptive algorithms are investigated with relevance to their suitability for integration using the two approaches, and three possible circuit architectures are evaluated to determine the optimum processor parameters in each case. Overall, a general view of optimum adaptive filter architecture in either analog or digital circuit form is described and the relative merits of the alternative systems discussed.
