Abstract

In the last few years, Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP, has been implemented by a number of organizations as an innate solution to their businesses in future. In spite of its intuitive appeal, ERP has challenges and difficulties in its realization. Saudi Arabia is in a transient phase with regards to ERP implementation and a number of organizations are either implementing or planning to implement one of such systems. In this paper, existing ERP trends are investigated, and various aspects were surveyed to evaluate the overall progress of ERP in Saudi Arabia. The survey captures best implementation practices, difficulties, experiences and benefits gained.
