Abstract

Equilibrium turbulent boundary layers were analysed to identify useful characteristics. It was shown that they could be effectively characterized in terms of the wall/outer variable shear velocity. The use of this perspective resulted in velocity defect profiles which were essentially independent of pressure gradient and blowing parameters, as well the streamwise coordinate. (D.W.T.)
