Abstract

Power harvesting becomes an extremely important issue with evolving wireless sensing in various types of applications. This paper presents a research highlight on the design of an energy harvesting system with small geometric characteristics operating indoor for wireless sensor nodes. After analysing the power consumption of each component in a sensor node and evaluating experimentally the amount of harvested energy, the paper proposes a possible architecture of energy harvesting system and provides design considerations.
