Abstract

There has been advent of the nanofibers in the last few decades and they have been proven to be excellent candidates for a variety of applications, including sustainable energy production and environmental remediation. Recently, nanofibers have been employed as membrane and electrode materials in solar cells, fuel cells, batteries, field effect transistors, and supercapacitors. In this regard, scalable production of the nanofibers is of prime importance to make them widely applicable. This chapter provides a brief account of materials, fabrication methods, and energy applications of nanofibers and their composites. In addition to that, it will provide future prospects for nanofibers and their composites to further enhance their commercialization.
