Abstract
Rapidly quenching melts produce amorphous phases. Both in situ studies and investigations on samples annealed externally at temperatures determined by D. T. A. aided in establishing a sequence for crystallization. The alloys initially transformed to a metastable b. c. c. supersaturated solid solution of Ti followed by precipitation of the intermetallic compound Ti//2X.
