Abstract

Corrosion inhibiting performance of synthesized 4-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-methyl-6-oxo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-5-carbonitrile (HPP) for mild steel in hydrochloric has been studied by using different experimental methodology named as weight loss and electrochemical techniques. The Potentiodynamic polarization study indicates mixed mode type inhibition action of HPP. EIS analysis pointed increase in the Rct values attributed increase in the corrosion resistance in presence of HPP. The highest corrosion inhibition efficiency obtained is 84% at 100 ppm.
