Abstract
The chapter presents a concise description of selected electrochemical characteristics of Mo/Mo-oxides, namely reversible redox transition, pseudocapacitance, corrosion and electrochromism. The description on redox transition and pseudocapacitance are primarily based on our own cyclic voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy results obtained on a metallic Mo/glass electrode in aqueous sodium sulfate electrolyte. The factors determining the emergence of redox transitions and the potential-dependent variation of pseudocapacitance are highlighted. pH-dependent oxide film stability, metal corrosion and electrochromism of molybdenum oxides are briefed.
