Abstract

Alkaline battery electrode restructuring is being studied using ac impedance and ellipsometric techniques. Porous electrodes have been modeled as transmission lines, and the electrochemical properties (e. g. , impedance and voltage drop in the pores) of the electrodes are being derived in terms of measurable physical properties.
