Abstract

A SERIES OF GLASS SAMPLES WAS PREPARED FROM THE ADMIXTURE OF CDO, ZNO AND P//2O//5, AND RESULTS ARE REPORTED FOR DENSITY, REFRACTIVE INDICES, INFRA-RED TRANSMISSION SPECTRA, DIELECTRIC CONSTANTS, AND THEIR ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS. THE RESULTS SUGGEST THAT CONDUCTION ARISES OWING TO THE HOPPING OF ELECTRONS FROM THE DISSOCIATION OF O**2-LEVELS LYING NEAR THE CONDUCTION BAND.
