Abstract

A high gain antenna at 60 GHz is presented. The antenna utilizes the radiation from open-end microstrip lines fringing fields as an efficient radiator. The proposed antenna structure is very compact in size. The simulated antenna has realized boresight gain of 11.5-dBi, and matching bandwidth of 2.2 GHz (i.e., 3.66% relative bandwidth). The proposed antenna simplicity allows easy fabrication and low cost.
