Abstract

Experimental data are presented which show the effect of different heat treatments on the microstructures of two beta aluminum bronzes, and the effect of their microstructure on their resistance to corrosion in HCl, NaCl, and H//2SO//4 solutions of different strength and at different temperatures. Some seawater corrosion tests are included. The difference between the two nominally 85Cu-10Al-3Fe-Mn-Cr alloys is that one also contains 1% Si. Data are tabulated and plotted.
