Abstract
This paper is concerned with a new analysis of phase-controlled single-phase induction motors where the core saturation is taken into account. The input voltage to the stator winding is decomposed into harmonic components. To obtain the contribution of each harmonic component to the stator current, developed torque and motor efficiency, an iterative procedure is proposed to take core saturation into account. The sum over these contributions of the harmonic components gives the motor performance characteristics as influenced by core saturation.
