Abstract

In the rapidly evolving landscape of digital transformation (DT), the pressure for correctional systems worldwide to adapt and innovate has intensified. Traditional methods of managing prisons have become increasingly untenable in the face of burgeoning inmate populations, strained resources, and evolving societal expectations. This research endeavors to bridge a knowledge gap in understanding the factors of DT within Indonesian prisons, and the exploration of its factors remains largely uncharted territory. Our research employs a grounded theory (GT) to gain a thorough insight into the DT factors occurring within Indonesian prisons. The DT factors for Indonesia prisons comprise 16 components, for a total of 50 factors. The DT factors goal is to pave the way for the enhancement of humane, effective, and accountable practices within prison environments.
