Abstract
This paper describes the design and development of a Smart Helmet Technology (SHT) that integrates multi-sensor monitoring and communication technologies to enhance the motorcycle rider safety. After rigorous testing of the individual components, followed by the integration and 3D printing of electronics box, the final design is thoroughly evaluated in real-world conditions. It was found that the product is reliable in detecting accidents, monitoring health parameters, and sending emergency alerts with precise location data. Moreover, during testing, it was indicated that the proposed smart helmet not only addresses the gaps in previous designs but also aligns with the third United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 3) as it promotes health and well-being via innovative technology use. Therefore, our smart helmet offers a comprehensive solution to motorcycle safety, by potentially reducing injuries and improving emergency response times in case of accidents.
