Detecting Solid Sulfur Deposition Using Dual-Band Antenna

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

This work presents a simple microwave-based detection sensor to monitor the deposition of elemental sulfur in natural gas pipelines. Dual-band microstrip antennas are installed within the inner wall of the pipeline to monitor the deposition of the sulfur superstrate. The onset and the depth of the deposition are determined by studying the different resonant behavior of the antenna. The designed sensor is optimized using commercial EM software.
